Education level: Bachelor’s degree

Responsibilities:

• Will present and lead in client tours and design interactions
• Drive meeting with company sales representative and clients to gather project requirements, establish project timeline, and develop project budget
• Handle multiple projects simultaneously, each with differing scope and products
• Reviews RFP and Bid specifications
• Lead projects, collaborate with sales on VE options and alternate solutions
• Develop expert creative design concepts and space plans that fulfill client requirements and conform to applicable building codes, life safety codes and ADA requirements
• Gather field dimensions of project area and prepares accurate base drawings as needed
• Participate in and prepare furniture inventories as needed
• Generate expert furniture plans with intelligent graphics on AutoCAD and/or Configura including 3D’s and elevations as required
• Generate accurate furniture specifications using Configura programs
• Develop color schemes with material and finish selections within schedule and budget requirements
• Prepare installation plans as requested
• Become expert in a vertical market segment
• Will participate in showroom tours

The Experience You Will Bring:

• Bachelor's degree in interior design
• Registered with or ability to become a registered interior designer with the State of Illinois
• Certification by NCIDQ (National Council for Interior Design Qualification) or actively working toward certification.
• Experience in the commercial contract furniture industry.
• Position is based in Oak Brook, IL
• Due to some onsite work, the following vaccines may be required: Flu and DTaP.

Must Have:

• Registered interior designer with the State of Illinois, or able to become registered.
• CET (Configura) capability for furniture planning and specification.
• Experience in the commercial contract furniture industry, covering commercial furniture or workplace design, space planning, and detailed product selection and specification. Purely conceptual architectural or residential design alone is insufficient.
• Bachelor’s degree in interior design.

Nice to Have:

• NCIDQ certification, or actively working toward it.
