Interim position from September 2026 - February 2027.
Responsibilities (Include but are not limited to):
• Know and follow all school board policies.
• Give classroom instruction in the subject area assigned by the principal and director of
schools and administer curriculum consistent with school district goals and objectives.
• Promote a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to student learning.
• Follow state and local courses of study, follow rules and regulations of the state and local
boards of education, and follow school rules and policies established by the principal.
• Participate in all required in-service activities and continue professional development.
• Communicate with parents/guardians to keep them duly informed of their child's progress and
hold conferences with parents/guardians when necessary.
• Give full, willing and helpful cooperation in carrying out all reasonable instructions, or extra
assignments which are given by the principal before, during and after the school day.
• Perform any and all other duties as assigned by the principal/director of schools.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Current TN state certification in applicable grade level/subject area.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Successful prior teaching experience for this subject area/grade level a plus.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of current teaching methods and educational pedagogy, as well as differentiates instruction based upon student learning styles.
  • Possess a working knowledge of the state curriculum framework as pertains to the specific
    classroom subject needs.
  • Knowledge of data information systems, data analysis and the formulation of action plans.
  • Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education and students.
  • Ability to interpret policies as related to job functions.
  • Ability to use computer network systems and software applications as needed.
  • Ability to organize and coordinate work.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students and families.
  • Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others contacted in the course of work.
  • Ability to perform any physical duties assigned with this position (e.g., lifting up to 50 pounds on a
    regular basis, sitting for long periods of time, walking, seeing, standing for extended periods of
    time, etc.)
