Interim Finance Manager

Seeking an experienced Interim Finance Manager to provide leadership and continuity for a manufacturing facility in Hopewell, VA during a leadership transition. This role will oversee plant accounting, cost accounting, inventory accounting, forecasting, planning, financial reporting, and month-end close activities while partnering closely with operations and finance leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead plant-level cost accounting, inventory accounting, WIP accounting, and standard costing activities.
• Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, reserves, and financial reporting.
• Support forecasting, budgeting, Annual Operating Plan (AOP), and variance analysis.
• Partner with Operations, Supply Chain, Procurement, and Engineering to evaluate production, inventory, and cost performance.
• Support physical inventory counts, inventory valuation, reserve assessments, and manufacturing cost analysis.
• Develop process documentation, desk procedures, and training materials to ensure business continuity and successful knowledge transfer.
• Assist with onboarding and training of the permanent Finance Manager.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of senior-level accounting/finance professional with manufacturing industry experience.
• Strong background in cost accounting, inventory accounting, standard costing, WIP, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Experience supporting monthly and quarterly close processes.
• Advanced SAP experience required.
• Strong analytical, communication, documentation, and business partnering skills.
• Proven ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
