Specialty Medical Staffing is currently seeking an Interim Director of Pharmacy for an acute care hospital in the River Park, WV area. This is an immediate leadership opportunity for an experienced hospital pharmacist to oversee pharmacy operations while supporting an established inpatient pharmacy team.

We are seeking a pharmacist with strong inpatient and management experience who can provide operational leadership, maintain regulatory compliance, and support high-quality patient care in a collaborative hospital environment.

Assignment Details

• Start: ASAP
• Duration: Until a permanent Director of Pharmacy is hired
• Schedule: Monday-Friday | 7:0 AM - 3:30 PM
• Hours: Business Hours (Flexible as Needed to Support Staffing)
• On-Call: Required after each shift and on weekends
• Pharmacy Setting: Behavioral Health

Requirements

• Active West Virginia Pharmacist License required
• Previous Director of Pharmacy, PIC, or pharmacy leadership experience preferred
• Behavioral health pharmacy experience is a plus
• Experience with Omnicell and HCS preferred
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills

Responsibilities

• Serve as Interim Director of Pharmacy and Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC).
• Provide pharmacy staffing and administrative oversight.
• Ensure pharmacy operations remain compliant with applicable regulatory and facility standards.
• Support day-to-day pharmacy operations and collaborate with pharmacy and hospital leadership.
• Provide PIC oversight and assume administrative responsibilities associated with the role.
• Work collaboratively with the pharmacy team to maintain safe and efficient medication distribution.
• Onsite Training: Training will be provided by the current Director of Pharmacy prior to their retirement.
