Interim Assistant Controller

Tatum by Randstad is working with a company in the defense & space manufacturing industry that is in need of an interim controller to take on a 3-6 month contract opportunity. There could be potential for contract to hire. The client is onsite 5 days a week and prior experience heading up the accounting function in a public company is required. Our client is a division of a $2B company. The person taking on this role would be responsible for the following duties:

Responsibilities:

• Manage the month end close; review monthly reconciliations and journal entries; and prepare monthly/quarterly financial statements
• Ensure the accounting department is GAAP compliant and SOX documentation
• Manage fixed asset accounting
• Serve as the main point of contact for the external auditors
• Responsible for cash flow analysis; manage the payroll function; inventory accounting; and transactional accounting (a/p and cash apps)
• Work with cross functional teams on monthly/quarterly reporting projects

Qulaifications:

• Bachelor's in accounting or finance is required
• CPA or MBA is desired
• 6+ years of month end close experience in the manufacturing or defense & space manufacturing industry
• Prior experience heading up the month end function at a publicly traded company is required
• Prior experience with Sage, Deltek, NetSuite, or any large ERP system is required.
• Prior supervisory skills and strong attention to detail is required.
