Target Compensation: 115k -150k

A well-established manufacturing and distribution organization is seeking an experienced Interim Controller to provide hands-on financial leadership during a key transition period. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned Interim Controller who can quickly assess operations, maintain financial stability, and partner closely with ownership on both day-to-day accounting and high-level financial decisions.

The Interim Controller will serve as the senior finance leader on-site, overseeing accounting operations while providing strategic financial guidance to support business objectives.

Key Responsibilities of the Interim Controller

As an Interim Controller , you will:

• Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and cash management
• Manage month-end and year-end close processes
• Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements and management reports
• Develop budgets, forecasts, and financial models to support decision-making
• Monitor cash flow and working capital while providing recommendations to leadership
• Oversee inventory accounting, cost analysis, and operational reporting
• Review journal entries, reconciliations, and financial schedules for accuracy
• Partner with ownership and operational leaders to improve financial performance
• Coordinate with auditors, tax advisors, and banking partners
• Evaluate and strengthen accounting processes, controls, and reporting procedures
• Support special projects, strategic planning initiatives, and operational improvements

Preferred Qualifications of the Interim Controller

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 8+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience
• Previous experience as a Controller , Interim Controller, Assistant Controller, Accounting Manager, or senior finance leader
• Strong background in manufacturing, distribution, inventory, or cost accounting environments
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and cash flow management
• Proven leadership experience and ability to work independently
• Strong understanding of financial reporting, general ledger accounting, and internal controls
• ERP system experience required
• CPA or CMA is a plus
