This position is part of the Office of Electricity, Department of Energy. As a Interdisciplinary Physical Scientist - Grid Modeler, you will lead the North American Energy Resilience Model (NAERM), drive grid-modeling innovation, build analytical tools, oversee model and data operations, and execute advanced analyses with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

As a Physical Scientist you will: Lead and advise on extensive scientific and engineering programs and projects for the Department of Energy (DOE), especially those broad in scope or lacking clear precedents. Formulate and implement scientific and engineering initiatives to advance energy resources, environmental cleanup, new technologies, and energy production impacts.

Provide expert technical advice and leadership to various stakeholders on complex scientific and engineering problems, evaluating emerging technologies and recommending solutions. Develop and implement guidance for complex scientific and engineering systems, projects, and programs within the DOE. Serve as a recognized technical expert in scientific and engineering fields, representing the DOE in interagency groups and conferences.

Manage project plans, budgets, and schedules, ensuring adherence to DOE policy and effectively resolving highly technical challenges.
