Intensive Care Unit – ICU RN – Travel Nurse
TotalMed – Merced, CA – Immediate opening.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and monitor patients in an ICU setting.
- Provide basic bedside care.
- Prepare, administer, and record prescribed medication; report any adverse reactions to treatment.
- Order and evaluate diagnostic tests.
- Take samples for lab work, order corresponding lab work, and interpret reports.
- Monitor and adjust specialized equipment and interpret and record electronic displays.
- Ensure proper placement and functioning of catheters, leads and tubing.
- Communicate patients' conditions to family members.
- Provide education and support to patient families, possibly for long-term care needs.
- Delegate care to other healthcare providers as appropriate.
- Document and provide physician-directed care; assess and implement patient care plans.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- 1–2 years of recent acute care experience.
- ACLS, BLS, NIH certifications.
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods; bend, lean, and stoop without difficulty.
- Capability to lift 20 lbs, occasionally up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable with exposure to chemicals, infectious diseases, and potentially agitated patients.
