Job Overview

An Intellectual Property Associate Attorney is sought to join a San Francisco-based firm’s Hatch‑Waxman and pharmaceutical patent litigation team. The role involves managing a full spectrum of litigation work – from pre‑suit investigations and discovery to motion practice, trial and appeal – collaborating with nationally recognized IP litigators, scientists and technical experts.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all phases of Hatch‑Waxman and pharmaceutical patent litigation, including discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation.
• Draft and edit briefs, expert reports, and dispositive motions.
• Collaborate with partners, technical teams, and clients to craft litigation strategy.
• Conduct legal and regulatory research related to patent and FDA issues.
• Participate in court hearings, depositions and client meetings.
• Provide strategic counsel on patent risk, regulatory compliance, and exclusivity matters.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in Hatch‑Waxman or pharmaceutical patent litigation.
• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Admission to a U.S. State Bar in good standing.
• Technical background in chemistry, biology, biochemistry or related life sciences.
• USPTO registration is preferred.
• Strong legal writing, research and analytical skills.
• Exceptional organization and project management capabilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross‑disciplinary teams and clients.

Base Pay Range

$235,000.00 – $435,000.00 per year
