Network Engineer and Systems Engineer OpportunityNo vendors, no C2C candidates with employers. We are acquiring firms throughout the US, Canada, and the UK. We are looking for someone with some networking and systems engineering experience to help integrate newly acquired offices.

This engineer will install our switches, firewalls, WAPs, and configure VLANs. They will also setup servers in an AD environment. This engineer will travel to various offices and demonstrate troubleshooting competency, deliver mission critical infrastructure, and ensure the highest levels of availability, performance, and security.

The ability to interact with customers in a professional manner is essential.Network Engineer ResponsibilitiesConfiguration knowledge of switches, routers, firewalls, and other miscellaneous network hardware and related equipmentUnderstanding of LAN switching at L2 and LAN/WAN routing at L3Understanding of LAN to LAN VPNs including legacy MPLS and SD WANUnderstanding of perimeter security (firewall & IDS)Ability to clearly document network topology using VisioMaintain equipment inventory and understand best practices on networking and server equipment in regard to patching and life cycle managementManage and maintain documentation of all systems and processes in scopePlan, execute, and maintain system security initiatives and report events relating to the security of the infrastructure.Systems Engineer ResponsibilitiesInstalling, configuring, maintaining Windows Server operating systems, application software, and system management toolsTravel to various offices to conduct site surveys and document hardware systems, software, and infrastructure.Be able to define the work effort necessary to bring these systems onto the NFP network.Ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability and securityMonitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions, and implement those fixesMaintain security, backup, and business continuity strategiesAbility to understand how an application is supported by a vendor and determine upgrade plans for unsupported platformsKnowledge of Windows Server 2012/2016/2019 and Windows 10 configuration and troubleshootingMigrate computers onto the corporate network and restore applications and end user dataKnowledge, Qualifications, Skills, and/or Ability:Strong ability to organize and manage multiple tasks utilizing effective time management skills10+ years' experience in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Microsoft Windows operating system, Windows Server, Active Directory, and GPOsWorks effectively with all levels of internal technology team, end-users, management, and third party vendorsProfessional attitude, excellent interpersonal skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and strong customer service focusAbility to handle high-pressure situations in a professional mannerSolid experience in the administration and performance tuning of applicationsExperience with virtualization (VMWare, Hyper-V)Understanding of monitoring systems (PRTG, Solarwinds, Nagios)Ability to work with a distributed teamSolid networking knowledge (OSI network layers, TCP/IP)Microsoft Exchange and O365 migration knowledge (SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive) is a plusStrong Microsoft Office skills with Outlook, Excel, and Word. Microsoft Project, Visio, and PowerPoint expertise is a plus.Knowledge of Microsoft Azure and the ability to migrate applications to Azure or cloud platforms is a plus.Ability to lead projects and organize a teamThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
