In this role, you will be a critical part of a cross-disciplinary team supporting aggressive development timelines for every electrical system on-vehicle. This position influences design and system architecture trades based on manufacturability and performance during test.
You will also support standing up our internal AVI shop as we develop and qualify processes to produce harnesses, build boxes, and perform checkouts.ResponsibilitiesProvide design feedback for manufacturability, assembly, test, integration, and transportEstablish and maintain build roadmaps for assemblies you own; to ensure alignment between key stakeholders, drive hardware and tooling on-time deliveries, minimize build serialization, and escalate and eliminate blockersDevelop and release build CONOPS, work instructions, standard processes and procedures, and optimize existing processes to enable high quality, high speed executionSupport first article builds in a fast-paced, early-development environmentOwn design, process, and CapEx trades to support build and unlock key capabilities, and contribute to development of long-term, scalable manufacturing systems and infrastructureDrive make-vs.-buy decisions; collaborate with Engineering and Supply ChainProvide hands-on floor support during build and testDrive continuous improvement measures across the factory, including tooling, ERP / MES workflows, and internal standards and specificationsBasic QualificationsDegree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field3+ years of hands-on experience building hardware in a manufacturing or integration environmentFamiliar with aerospace assembly best practicesExperience writing build and test procedures for technicians and specialistsExposure to electrical harness design and mechanical routing in 3D CAD softwareCollaborate with integrated product teams to ensure system-level avionics design meets needs for structures, propulsion, and software systems integration and testComfortable communicating across design, manufacturing, supply chain, test, and logistics teams to ensure hardware quality and pace of executionSelf-starter who can define and roll out new processes from scratch, working collaboratively with technicians, engineers, and external vendorsProficient in CAD, basic design or test analysis, and first-principles hand calculationsPreferred Skills and ExperienceExperience supporting aerospace, defense, or other mission-critical mechanical hardwareStrong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specificationsExperience authoring and improving work instructions, travelers, and build documentationFamiliarity with PLM/MES systems and production change control in a regulated environmentHands-on exposure to tooling, fixtures, or assembly aids on the manufacturing floorAdditional RequirementsMust be willing to be hands-on in a manufacturing and test environment daily.Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and work safely around high-pressure systems and industrial equipment.Extended or flexible hours may be required to support critical build and test milestones.$138,550 - $224,250 a year The salary information provided is a general guideline only.
