Intake AttorneyA growing California law firm is seeking an Intake Attorney to evaluate potential legal matters and guide prospective clients through the initial case assessment process. This position plays a critical role in identifying viable claims, conducting legal evaluations, and helping prospective clients understand their rights and available options.ResponsibilitiesConduct comprehensive consultations with prospective clients to evaluate potential legal claims and assess case viability.Analyze factual and legal issues, identify potential causes of action, and determine whether matters align with the firm's practice areas and case selection criteria.Apply relevant federal and state laws to assess the strengths, weaknesses, and overall merits of prospective matters.Prepare detailed case evaluations and written summaries for attorneys and leadership, highlighting key facts, legal issues, and potential exposure or recovery.Educate prospective clients regarding legal processes, available remedies, and potential next steps.Collaborate with intake personnel, paralegals, and attorneys to ensure efficient case onboarding, documentation, and follow-up.Manage a high volume of consultations and inquiries while maintaining professionalism, responsiveness, and strong client service.Coordinate referrals for matters that fall outside the firm's practice areas when appropriate.QualificationsJuris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.Active membership in good standing with the California State Bar.1–3+ years of litigation, employment law, or related legal experience preferred.Strong analytical, issue-spotting, and legal research skills.Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, including the ability to explain complex legal concepts to non-legal audiences.Proven ability to manage a high volume of matters while maintaining attention to detail and strong client relationships.Experience with case management systems, CRM platforms, or intake software is a plus.CompensationTotal compensation range: $130,000–$180,000, depending on experience and qualifications.Competitive benefits package and opportunities for professional growth and advancement.
