Insurance Placement Specialists work independently and effectively negotiate with our carrier partners to write new business using time management tactics to meet deadlines. This position is responsible for the marketing and placement of new commercial business.Essential ResponsibilitiesWrite new business in a quick, timely, and accurate mannerCollaborate with Risk Advisors to determine markets and coverages neededReceive marketing applications for commercial lines accountsValidate and update information within received applications to ensure accurate carrier submissionsAnalyze and review quotes and coverages from carriers for accuracyCreate and distribute marketing proposals to sales staff, and bind coverage as necessaryProactively manage the marketing process and meet deadlines to ensure client and Risk Advisor satisfactionExercise independent judgment and discretion to meet client needsTransition new business accounts to the Account Manager and update internal systems to reflect accounts as sold and input clear directions to the Account Manager for smooth transitionEnter activity and other relevant information into the company's software system(s) in accordance with company proceduresProvide support and knowledge to sales and service staff throughout the marketing processUnderstand and promote value-added services available through North Risk Partners (i.e., professional consulting, webinars/seminars, communications, tools, etc.)Develop and maintain strong, positive relationships with carriers and company contactsAttend and actively participate in agency service training meetingsAnalyze trends and advancements in the insurance industry, as well as changes to the regulatory climate for businesses and the industry overallFollow all federal and state regulations and best practices for avoiding errors and omissionsMentor new marketing team members by guiding them on marketing methods while operating in alignment with company's mission and valuesContinue professional development by pursuing and maintaining professional designationsQualifications (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities)A combination of education and experience generally attained through a high school degree, bachelor's degree, and a minimum of 5 years in the commercial insurance spacePrevious insurance marketing and/or insurance customer service experience is requiredHolds an active property & casualty licenseExcellent oral and written communication skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced environmentSelf-starter who takes initiative to identify problems and lead by exampleStrong attention to detail, demonstrating the ability to prioritize tasks effectivelyBehavior ExpectationsA role model for North Risk Partners' core values, mission, and desired cultureDemonstrate enthusiasm and a positive attitudeProfessionally and positively represent North Risk Partners to all coworkers, clients, and external stakeholdersA team player who collaborates and works well with his/her coworkersA professional who demonstrates the ability to carry on a conversation with clients, Risk Advisors, and other coworkers within North Risk PartnersPhysical RequirementsPerform under normal office conditions; may include lifting/carrying objects weighing up to 25 poundsTwist, bend, stoop, kneel, squat, stand, walk, and reach frequentlyHear, speak, and effectively verbally communicate in the English language, including following oral and written instructions to communicate with people inside and outside of the organizationSit and a desk for extended periods of time and perform long hours of work sitting at a computerMove around office/building/facilities repeatedly throughout the dayApply manual dexterity, visual acuity and ability, for computer keyboarding, office equipment uses, review of detailed reports, information, fine print, and warning labelsMust possess valid driver's license and be able to travel to different North Risk Partners locations for meetings, as well as various locations throughout the state and potentially the region for client meetingsAble to work a flexible work schedule, including overtime and potential evenings/weekends for events and meetings as neededTools and Equipment UsedIncumbents must be able to use telephones, calculators, copy machines, computers, printers, and other office equipmentWork EnvironmentThe work environment is primarily indoors. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The hiring range represents the company's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability, life, long-term care, 401(k) plan, and more.
