Insurance Litigation Attorney

New York City, NY $140,000 - $220,000 Base Salary + Comprehensive Benefits

Our firm is seeking an experienced Insurance Coverage/ Insurance Defense Litigation Attorney to join our highly regarded New York office. We are looking for attorneys with 2-9+ years of experience handling complex insurance coverage, insurance defense, and commercial litigation matters.

What You'll Do

• Handle complex insurance coverage and litigation matters from inception through resolution
• Draft coverage opinions, pleadings, motions, and legal memoranda
• Manage discovery, including depositions and expert witness coordination
• Represent clients at court appearances, mediations, arbitrations, and settlement conferences
• Analyze coverage issues involving commercial general liability, professional liability, excess and specialty lines, and other insurance products
• Collaborate with partners on high-profile domestic and international matters
• Develop direct client contact and counseling responsibilities

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school
• Active admission to the New York Bar
• 2-9+ years of insurance coverage, insurance defense, or related commercial litigation experience
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
• Deposition and motion practice experience preferred
• Experience advising insurers, carriers, or reinsurers is a plus
• Ability to work independently while thriving in a collaborative team environment
