About the Opportunity
A premier, rapidly expanding civil litigation defense firm with a decades-long heritage across California is seeking skilled Litigation Defense Attorneys to join its trial-ready team.
Backed by a full 1:1 attorney-to-support-staff ratio (paralegals, discovery clerks, and administrative staff), you will manage meaningful caseloads across a diverse array of practice areas, with opportunities to take depositions, argue motions, attend settlement conferences, and participate in trials.
Key Practice Areas
- Insurance Defense: Motor vehicle litigation, premises liability, product liability, catastrophic injury, professional/medical/dental malpractice, and insurance coverage/bad faith.
- Public Entity Defense: Municipal liability, governmental entity defense, sidewalk/trip-and-fall, transit/railroad incidents, and public parks/events claims.
Core Responsibilities
- Manage file-handling responsibilities for an active caseload of 20–40 cases.
- Conduct early case assessments and risk evaluations.
- Oversee comprehensive written discovery, subpoenas, and record collection.
- Take and defend party, witness, and expert depositions.
- Represent clients in mediations, settlement conferences, and trial proceedings.
Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school.
- Active license in good standing with the State Bar of California.
- 1+ years of civil litigation experience (Insurance Defense or Public Entity Defense preferred).
- Strong deposition, motion practice, and brief-writing skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a remote or hybrid team environment.
Salary and Other Compensation
The annual salary for this position is between $130,000 – $250,000 . Factors which may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
Additional Compensation & Bonus Programs:
- Discretionary Bonus: Performance-based annual bonuses.
