Duties:

• Develop and implement litigation strategies for insurance defense cases.
• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and internal teams to ensure timely case progression.
• Draft legal documents including pleadings, discovery requests, reports, and motions.
• Take and defend depositions, and represent clients during court hearings and mediations.
• Argue motions and participate in trials as part of a litigation team.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys and partners to manage cases and develop legal strategies.
• Contribute to business development initiatives and assist with maintaining client relationships.
• Participate in ongoing professional development programs, including mentorship and training.

Requirements:

• Experience in insurance defense and litigation.
• Strong experience in drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery documents.
• Familiarity with conducting depositions, attending court conferences, and participating in trials.
• Ability to develop effective legal strategies and offer sound legal advice to clients.
• Must be admitted and in good standing with the New York State Bar (required); additional bar admissions in other states are a plus.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to work both independently and in a collaborative setting.
• Exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Must be admitted to the New York State Bar (required).
• Additional state bar admissions are beneficial.

Skills:

• In-depth knowledge of insurance defense litigation, including case strategy and dispute resolution.
• Proficient in legal research, writing, and drafting pleadings and motions.
• Strong client management and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to handle complex legal issues and provide sound, practical legal advice.
• Experience in business development and contributing to the growth of a practice is a plus.
• Excellent time management and multitasking abilities.
