Key Responsibilities
  • Will handle a diverse caseload involving construction, premises liability, automobile accidents, contract disputes, statutory claims, and general civil litigation.

  • Manage a full caseload of insurance defense litigation matters from inception through resolution.
  • Represent clients in matters involving construction defects, premises liability, automobile accidents, contract disputes, statutory violations, and general civil litigation.
  • Conduct legal research utilizing Westlaw and other legal research platforms.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, legal memoranda, contracts, and other litigation-related documents.
  • Prepare and defend party, treating physician, and expert witness depositions.
  • Represent clients at court hearings, mediations, arbitrations, settlement conferences, and trials.
  • Develop effective litigation strategies and provide practical legal advice to clients.
  • Negotiate settlements while protecting clients' interests and minimizing exposure.
  • Prepare cases for trial, including witness preparation, evidence organization, and case strategy development.
  • Maintain accurate case files, billing records, and litigation documentation.
  • Collaborate with attorneys, support staff, clients, insurance carriers, and expert witnesses throughout the litigation process.
Required Qualifications
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Active Bar admission and good standing.
  • Proven experience handling insurance defense litigation.
  • Strong knowledge of civil procedure, litigation strategy, and motion practice.
  • Experience managing cases independently through discovery, depositions, and trial preparation.
  • Proficiency with legal research platforms such as Westlaw.
  • Experience using legal billing software and case management systems.
  • Strong legal research, analytical, and writing skills.
  • Excellent verbal communication, negotiation, and courtroom advocacy skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and Outlook.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced litigation environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of insurance coverage issues.
  • Experience handling construction litigation, premises liability, transportation, or general liability defense matters.
  • Significant courtroom, deposition, and trial experience.
