Insurance & Financial Services Litigation AssociateDirect Counsel is seeking an Insurance & Financial Services Litigation Associate with 3–5 years of litigation experience to join a sophisticated and growing litigation practice in the Los Angeles area. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex disputes involving insurance coverage, ERISA, disability, life and health insurance claims, long-term care matters, fraud investigations, and employer-sponsored benefit plans.The ideal candidate will possess strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills, along with a proactive and collaborative approach to litigation.ResponsibilitiesDraft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests and responses, subpoenas, and other litigation-related documentsReview, investigate, and assess the factual and legal merits of claims and disputesEngage directly with in-house counsel, experts, third-party administrators, opposing counsel, and witnessesConduct and defend depositionsAssist with trial and arbitration preparation, including motions in limine, trial briefs, jury instructions, exhibits, and witness preparationConduct legal research and prepare memoranda on substantive legal issuesCollaborate with attorneys and clients on litigation strategy and case managementQualifications3–5 years of civil litigation experienceExperience involving insurance, ERISA, employee benefits, financial services, or related litigation is preferredExcellent legal research, writing, and analytical skillsStrong work ethic and ability to thrive in a collaborative environmentAbility to manage multiple assignments and deadlines effectivelyCalifornia Bar admission requiredCompensation & BenefitsBase salary range: $158,000 – $190,000Annual performance-based and billable hours bonusesMainly Remote – Must reside in California!Reasonable billable hour expectationsCompetitive health insurance benefits and 401(k) with partial matchStrong mentorship and long-term career development opportunitiesThis opportunity offers sophisticated litigation experience, direct client interaction, and the chance to work on complex insurance and financial services matters alongside highly regarded attorneys.Qualified candidates are encouraged to apply through Direct Counsel.
