Overview

CSAA Insurance Group, a AAA insurer, is hiring for an Insurance Analyst II, State Product Management in the Eastern State Product division . Join to support CSAA IG in achieving our goals and continue our focus on progress over perfection, innovation, and adaptability.

Responsibilities

  • Performs moderately complex analysis to develop actionable and innovative recommendations for achieving growth and profitability targets.
  • Proactively assesses market risks and opportunities, evaluating multiple possible solutions, and leveraging data-based insights to influence the decisions of executive leadership.
  • Utilizes tools like SAS, SQL, Microsoft Excel, Essbase to access and analyze large amounts of data (may also use other tools such as Snowflake, PowerBI, Python, etc.).
  • Understands and communicates overall performance and strategy of personal lines auto and property products in your assigned markets.
  • Quantifies catastrophe risk and identifies risk management strategies.
  • Builds annual revenue plans and explains variances to these plans.
  • Works cross-functionally with partners across the organization, including with Actuarial, Finance, and others, to support the development, design, and implementation of new products, programs, and processes.
  • Delivers effective presentations of findings to multiple levels of internal and external stakeholders, adapting the content as appropriate.
  • This role may require occasional travel (<10%) to meet with partners in your assigned territory.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in mathematics, business, statistics, economics, computer science or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2+ years of analytical experience and/or product experience in insurance or a similar industry required.
  • Proven research, statistical, analytical, processing and mathematical skills with ability to structure and conduct analyses.
  • Exceptional communication skills with ability to translate complex concepts into simple, actionable recommendations for diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong research and analytical (quantitative and/or qualitative) skills with ability to perform analysis and identify solutions to issues.
  • Ability to understand customer’s goals as well as critical business processes and rules to design solutions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Sharepoint, especially Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to read and interpret standard laws and regulations.

What would make us excited about you?

  • Pursuit or completion of industry-relevant continuing education, including graduate degrees, MBA, risk and insurance designations, and actuarial exams and designations a plus.
  • Knowledge of insurance, accounting and rate-making concepts.
  • Proficiency in SAS, SQL, PowerBI, Visual Basic and various structured analysis and design techniques.
  • Project management experience and a proven history of taking initiative and driving projects to completion with minimal guidance.
  • Shows respect for differences through excellent communication skills with people from an array of backgrounds.

  • Willingness to engage in team onboarding and relationship building, including using cameras when appropriate during collaboration.
  • Travel as needed for role, including divisional/team meetings and other in-person meetings.
