Instrumentation TechnicianThe Instrumentation Technician is responsible for installing, repairing, calibrating, and maintaining all instrumentation within our facility. The Instrumentation Technician must be able to troubleshoot and repair a wide range of sensors and related equipment, including pH probes, level transmitters, pressure transmitters, flow meters, RTDs, Thermocouples, etc. They will work independently and with other plant personnel to perform preventive, predictive, and routine maintenance tasks.Position Responsibilities:Install, integrate, calibrate, troubleshoot, repair various measurement and controls equipment that monitor parameters such as pH, conductivity, temperature, oxygen, flow rate, level, mass, and water/air pressure.Install, maintain, and analyze malfunctions of analog and computerized control devices, controls and instrument loops, and instruments for the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system.Interpret electrical drawings, schematics, P&IDs, PFDs, and technical documentation to ensure all work is done to standard and meets or exceeds safety requirements.Use Programmable Logic Controls (PLC) and Programmable Automation Controllers (PAC) as a tool for configuring, troubleshooting, and diagnosing production equipment.Work with EHS to ensure that all work is done to ensure world class health and safety, and full compliance with safety and relevant environmental regulations.Other duties, as assigned.Basic Qualifications:Completion of an approved Certified Electrical Program or equivalent experience.Minimum of five (5) years of experience in the maintenance and repair of analog and digital industrial control equipment, industrial electronics and test equipment.Knowledge of uninterruptable power sources, diesel/gas generators, electrical switchgear, power distribution units, variable frequency drives, and automatic/static transfer switches.Knowledge of building codes and regulations including Life Safety, IBC, NFPA, NEC, and OSHA.Sound knowledge of Process Safety.Understanding of proper use of electrical PPE (insulated tools, properly rated insulated gloves, hot sticks, FR clothing, etc.).Entrepreneurial mindset, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple concurrent projects.5+ years Electrical within a manufacturing environment in metals, semiconductors, or chemicals industries.Knowledge of medium and high voltage equipment.Understanding of arc flash hazards.Working knowledge of NFPA 70e, NEC, and NFPA codes.Ability to identify and solve problems, and effectively communicate and advocate for these solutions to others (from operators to management).MP Materials is Proud to be an Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action Employer.
