Job Summary
Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field (preferred)
  • Professional certifications such as CompTIA Network+, CCNA, or CCNP (preferred)
  • Three years of experience providing technical support
  • Intermediate knowledge of network diagnostic, monitoring, and analysis tools
  • Intermediate knowledge of network infrastructure and hardware
  • Fingerprint clearance with the Alabama State Department of Education prior to the start date
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical support to troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues
  • Respond to helpdesk tickets, emails, and phone calls timely
  • Install, configure, and maintain computers, printers, projectors, and other technological equipment
  • Install, configure, and update software applications
  • Assist with the deployment and maintenance of educational software and tools
  • Support network security measures, including firewall, antivirus, and anti-malware solutions
  • Monitor network performance and address connectivity issues
  • Conduct training sessions for staff and students on the use of technology resources
  • Assist with the management of user accounts, permissions, and access controls
  • Support data backup and recovery processes
  • Help maintain the district's technology policies and procedures
  • Work closely with the IT department and school administration to align technology initiatives with educational goals
  • Communicate effectively with staff, students, and vendors regarding technology issues and solutions
  • Participate in technology planning and improvement projects
  • Ensure compliance with district policies, state regulations, and best practices for technology use
  • Implement and support cybersecurity measures to protect district data and systems
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Technology and/or Superintendent

Ability to stand, walk, and run to emergencies.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others. Advanced understanding and knowledge of current technology.

Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to sit for extended periods of time. The employee must also talk, hear, stand, and walk. The employee may be required to use their hands to finger, handle, feel, and/or reach. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
