Paraeducator - Special Education Instructional Aide

To qualify, applicants must meet one of the following education requirements:

• Have a high school diploma or equivalent and meet the required scores on the ParaPathways Reading and Writing and Mathematics exams.
• Have completed at least two years of college coursework in general or educational studies from an accredited college or university.
• Hold an associate degree or higher from an accredited college or university.

Location: St. Georges Technical High School

Job Goal: To provide academic and vocational services to students in the various career programs as specified in IEP's. To assist the primary instructor in providing related activities, tutoring, and supervision of students.

Performance Responsibilities:

• Provide instruction under supervision of academic and vocational teachers.
• Assist instructors in related activities, work-study, cooperative education and job development.
• Provide individual tutoring to students.
• Provide student supervision and monitoring.
• Participate in IEP and in-service meetings.
• Perform clerical duties as needed.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by supervising assistant principals.
