Job Description
Our client is seeking a Training Program Manager / Instructional Design Consultant to lead a large-scale knowledge capture and training development initiative for a highly technical operations team.
This individual will partner with engineers, operators, and subject matter experts to document critical job functions, organize role-based training paths, build a structured curriculum framework, and drive the project from discovery through implementation. The ideal candidate is highly organized, experienced leading complex training initiatives, and comfortable navigating technical environments while collaborating with multiple stakeholders.
This role will act as both a project manager and training consultant, ensuring critical operational knowledge is documented, prioritized, and translated into sustainable training programs for future employees.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Partner with leadership and SMEs to document team responsibilities, workflows, processes, and critical operational knowledge.
Review existing Job Task Analyses (JTAs) and training materials to identify gaps and training priorities.
Conduct stakeholder interviews, discovery sessions, and working meetings across multiple teams.
Organize and structure role-based learning paths and curriculum frameworks.
Develop project plans, timelines, milestones, and training roadmaps.
Track deliverables, drive progress, and hold stakeholders accountable throughout the project lifecycle.
Translate complex technical information into organized training documentation and curriculum recommendations.
Collaborate with leadership to prioritize training content and knowledge transfer initiatives.
Support future training content development efforts, including videos, job aids, guides, and onboarding materials.
Provide regular project updates and recommendations to key stakeholders.

Skills and Requirements
5+ years of experience in Instructional Design, Learning & Development, Training Program Management, Organizational Development, Project Management, or a related field.
Experience building training programs, onboarding programs, knowledge management initiatives, or learning curriculums from the ground up.
Strong project management experience with the ability to drive timelines and manage multiple stakeholders.
Experience gathering requirements through interviews, workshops, and discovery sessions.
Exceptional organization, communication, and documentation skills.
Experience creating project plans, training roadmaps, and process documentation.
Self-starter who can work independently in ambiguous environments. Utility, energy, engineering, power systems, or industrial operations experience.
Experience supporting technical operations teams or engineering organizations.
Knowledge of instructional design methodologies and adult learning principles.
Experience developing eLearning, video-based content, or digital learning assets.
Consulting or change management experience.
Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS).
PMP, ATD, CPTD, or related certifications.
