Job Title: Elementary Instructional Assistant
Primary Role
The Elementary Instructional Assistant provides support for classroom teachers and students by assisting with instruction, preparing materials, and supervising students throughout the school day. This role contributes to student learning and engagement while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism. The Instructional Assistant also assists with lunch, recess, and substitute coverage as needed to ensure smooth operations. By collaborating with teachers and maintaining positive student relationships, the Instructional Assistant helps create a safe, supportive, and productive learning environment.

  • Small group instruction under teacher instruction.
  • Assist in planning and preparing instructional materials as needed.
  • Monitor students during classroom activities, transitions, and independent work to ensure engagement and safety.
  • Supervise students during lunch, recess, and other assigned duties.
  • Provide classroom coverage as needed

  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to implement lesson plans, behavior supports, and instructional strategies.

  • Support staff across grade levels as needed to ensure a cohesive school environment.

  • 60 hours of college credit or passing score on Paraprofessional test

Other Duties
Perform other related duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the elementary school building and curriculum, instruction, and assessment programming for elementary school students during contracted hours.
