Summary
Eastern Pulaski Elementary School is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Instructional Assistant to serve in the role of a speech aide to support our speech services team. The ideal candidate will work closely with speech-language pathologists to assist students with communication challenges, fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment. This role is integral to helping students achieve their speech and language goals and enhancing their overall educational experience.
Responsibilities
- Assist speech-language pathologists in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with speech and language impairments.
- Support students during speech therapy sessions, providing encouragement and reinforcement.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized therapy environment.
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities as required.
- Communicate effectively with students and staff regarding student progress and needs.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; coursework in education, speech-language pathology, or related fields preferred.
- Experience working with children.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in helping students succeed.
- Basic computer skills for documentation and communication purposes.
