INSTRUCTIONAL ASSISTANT

Instructional Assistant - 10 month

Full-time

Starting Salary is $16 per hour

SCHOOL DESCRIPTION

West Philadelphia Achievement Charter Elementary School is an inner city Arts and Technology K-5 Elementary School. We are a family oriented environment with family and community involvement being an integral part of our mission to enrich the lives of our students.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supporting classroom teacher
  • Working with small groups of students
  • Supporting lunch and recess
  • Covering classes in teacher's absence
  • communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • establish and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, administrators, supportive staff, parents, and students
  • Supports students virtually and in-person

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • 2 + years working with children
  • 60+ college credits in education or related field
  • Must be able to obtain or currently have all background clearances (Federal, PA State, & Child Abuse).
  • In the event that the need arises, you will need to be able to: lift, pull or push up to 15 lbs, walk a standard flight of stairs, or stand or sit for up to 45 minutes.
