Key Responsibilities
Instructional Support & Adaptation
Must complete Basic Training (5 hours) provided by JSD Special Education Department. Training must be completed within one week of hire as a condition of employment.
Additional training is available through the Special Education department allowing the employee to increase to lane 4 upon completion.

Position Summary

Key Responsibilities
Instructional Support & Adaptation
- Lesson Adaptation: Modify and adapt classroom materials and lessons under the guidance of the lead teacher to align with each student's specific learning level and goals (IEPs).
- Goal Tracking: Help monitor and support students in reaching their individualized academic and developmental benchmarks.
- Behavior Management: Utilize established behavioral plans to safely and constructively manage challenging behaviors.
- Daily Physical Care: Assist students with daily living activities and physical care needs as required.
- Team Collaboration: Partner closely with special education teachers, therapists, and school administration to implement student support plans.
- Family Partnerships: Maintain open, proactive, and positive communication with families to ensure a cohesive and supportive bridge between home and school.
- Patience & Deep Empathy: An innate ability to connect with students.
- Resilience & Calmness: The ability to remain calm, steady, and supportive under pressure or during moments of high behavior.
- Strong Communication Skills: A collaborative spirit that keeps teachers, administrators, and families aligned and on the same page.
