Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Instructional Assistant to join our team at Providence Elementary School. The ideal candidate will support classroom teachers in delivering high-quality education to students, fostering a positive learning environment, and promoting student engagement. This full-time position requires a commitment to student success and collaboration with educators, parents, and the community.
Responsibilities
- Assist classroom teachers in implementing lesson plans and instructional activities.
- Support individual and small group instruction to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Monitor student progress and behavior, providing feedback and reinforcement as necessary.
- Prepare instructional materials and maintain an organized classroom environment.
- Assist with the assessment and evaluation of student performance.
- Collaborate with teachers to develop and adapt instructional strategies for students with varying abilities.
- Supervise students during lunch, recess, and other non-instructional times.
- Communicate effectively with students, teachers, and parents to support student learning.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance instructional skills.
- Perform administrative tasks as needed, such as record-keeping and filing.
Requirements
-42 college credit hours or passing the paraeducator exam if the candidate does not have 42 college hours.
- Previous experience working with children in an educational setting is highly desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in supporting student learning and development.
- Basic computer skills and proficiency in educational technology.
- Knowledge of child development and effective instructional strategies.

Pay is based on years of experience.
