Instructional Assistant - Goshen, IN

The role involves working closely with students exhibiting significant behavioral, developmental, and physical challenges, empowering them to participate fully in the school day.
Key Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Genuine passion for supporting students with intensive needs
• Previous experience as a paraprofessional or similar role preferred
• Comfort assisting with toileting, diapering, hygiene, feeding, and dressing
• Ability to manage challenging behaviors - including physical outbursts - with composure and compassion
• Capable of following individualized behavior support plans
• Willingness to assist with communication, academics, social skills, and daily living tasks
• Training in mobility assistance, transfers, and positioning (or willingness to learn)
• Strong commitment to student dignity, privacy, and a nurturing environment
• Excellent teamwork, observation, and communication skills

Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

• Deliver close supervision in classrooms, hallways, cafeteria, and during transitions
• Implement behavior plans and de-escalation strategies as needed
• Assist students with personal care and mobility throughout the school day
• Support students during academic tasks, social situations, and daily routines
• Accurately track behaviors and progress, communicating effectively with teachers and staff
• Maintain a calm, proactive presence and positivity, even in challenging moments

Multiple positions are available for both elementary and high school age groups, with elementary roles offering approximately 32.5 hours per week and high school roles offering 37.5 hours per week.
