- Plans and documents activities that meet the objectives of the curriculum.
- Assists during small and large groups to facilitate the development of the diverse needs of children within the classroom.
- Adapts materials necessary to meet the individual needs of children within the foundations of the classroom curriculum.
- Participates with the classroom team by providing safe and effective early intervention/early childhood services.
- Follows through with programs developed by the Early Intervention Team within the classroom environment in order to meet individual children's goals and objectives.
- Supervises and implements appropriate hygiene habits for all children. Maintains a safe/healthy environment through sanitizing, cleaning mats, cleaning up various bodily fluids, and health checks.
- Assists with positive open communications with children and their families.
- Develops and organizes materials as necessary to meet individual children's needs and curriculum adaptations.
- Assists with filing and organization of children's file material.
- Performs related duties as required.
Required Education and Experience:
- High school diploma (or GED equivalent)
- Up to one (1) year of experience
- Any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities
- Class C driver's license
Competencies for Successful Performance of Job Duties

- Basic child development
- Proper hand washing, sanitation, and health procedures

- Performing a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another of a different nature
- Performing basic mathematical functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, and ratios
- Communication, both oral and written

- Understand and carry out oral and written directions
- Accurately organize and maintain paper documents and electronic files
- Maintain the confidentiality of information and professional boundaries
- Assist with classroom management
- Adapt materials, equipment, and activities as needed
- Observe and appropriately document child's activities, interests, and behaviors
- Prepare clear and concise reports and documents
- The position involves medium physical demands, such as exerting up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.
