What we're looking for:
- Previous experience as a paraprofessional or classroom aide preferred.
- Ability to build rapport with students of varying backgrounds and abilities.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Patience, adaptability, and a positive attitude towards daily challenges.
- Familiarity with implementing teacher-directed lesson plans and behavior management strategies.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional coursework or certification in education or special needs support is a plus.
- Willingness to work collaboratively as part of a diverse education team.
- Assist classroom teachers with daily lesson plans and classroom management.
- Support students individually or in small groups to promote understanding and skill development.
- Help maintain an organized, safe, and welcoming environment for students.
- Contribute to student documentation, as directed, and communicate effectively with staff and families.
- Adapt resources and materials as needed to support student success.
- Supervise students during activities, transitions, and, as required, lunch or recess periods.
