Position Summary

The Department of Chemistry & Chemical Biology is
seeking several Instructional Assistants for undergraduate chemistry courses, which may include labs or lecture sections. The Instructional Assistants will
work under supervision of faculty in charge of the courses duties.
Possible Duties may include:
1. Supervise student
laboratory work and provide guidance for lab procedure
2. Grade student reports,
lab practical, and other course assignments and assessments.
3. Enforce lab safety
rules prescribed by the course.
4. Attend mandatory
training and preparatory meetings
5. Conduct zoom meetings
for remote scheduled courses or online office hours
6. Maintain student grade
records
7. Hold office hours for
students with questions related to the course
8. May assist with
troubleshooting laboratory experiments.
9. Help set up, operate,
and maintain a variety of standard laboratory instrumentation as required
for laboratory exercises.
10. Assist with lab drawer
check in /check out
11. Facilitate student class
or lab discussion and problem solving
12. Assist course instructor
to proctor exams
13. Other duties assigned by
the course instructor

Qualifications: Must have completed Chemistry courses: 1215/1215L, 1225/1225L, with a "B" or better grade. 301/303L or 302/304L for Organic IAs
