Instructional Assistant-Behavior
Under the direction of Site Administration, Educational Services and Special Education, the Instructional Assistant-Behavior supports classroom teachers, the Behavior Support Specialist, and BCBA in implementing behavior intervention plans, collecting behavior data, and reinforcing positive behavior strategies for students with identified behavioral needs. This position assists in delivering instruction to individual students and small groups, including the facilitation of Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) lessons, and supports the consistent implementation of Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) throughout the school day. Responsibilities also include supervising students with behavioral needs across various school settings, supporting transitions, assisting with student toileting and personal care, and responding to behavioral incidents. The Instructional Assistant – Behavior helps maintain a safe and structured learning environment and performs a variety of clerical duties in support of the instructional and behavioral programs.
Possess a High School Diploma or its Equivalency Must have passed the Paraprofessional Exam (formally known as the NCLB) or have acquired an AA Degree or 48 college units D.O.J Background Check T.B. Test / Assessment
