Job Summary
Under general supervision, to assist teachers in supervising the classroom and playground activities of
children to relieve teachers of routine clerical and authorized instructional duties and do related work as
required and assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
• Education equivalent to completion of 12th grade and successful passage of the Instructional Aide test
or meet the NCLB (No Child Left Behind Act) requirements for paraprofessionals (see below)
• Valid current California Driver's license.
• Some positions within the classification may require other specific experience to assist in
knowledge and/or skill acquisition.
Desirable:
• Previous experience in the public school setting.
• Valid first aid care or certificate.
• Recent successful experience interacting with youth.
This position is part of the Classified Employee Unit at MCUSD/MCOE and will be placed depending on experience on the Classified Employee Salary schedule on Range 14.
