Installation TechnicianGalapagos Federal Systems LLC is looking for an enthusiastic, well-qualified individual to fill the Installation Technician position. This role is responsible for executing and overseeing equipment and system installations, investigating failures, and ensuring operational readiness of IT assets in compliance with DIA, DoD, and Intelligence Community policies.The Installation Technician operates independently and may supervise installation and assembly work performed by other technicians while ensuring adherence to established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), information assurance requirements, and asset management practices.Key ResponsibilitiesInstall, configure, and maintain IT equipment and systems within DIA facilitiesSupervise and coordinate installation and assembly activities performed by other techniciansConduct system testing, validation, and troubleshooting to ensure operational functionalityInvestigate equipment and system failures, determine root causes, and perform or coordinate corrective actionsMaintain and support facility IT infrastructure, equipment, systems, and controlsEnsure compliance with established SOPs, technical standards, and operational proceduresSupport IT asset life cycle management, including deployment, maintenance, and decommissioningAssist with change management, risk management, and IT service management activitiesMaintain accurate documentation related to installations, configurations, and repairsSupport operations in classified IT environments, adhering to security and handling requirementsEnsure compliance with information assurance and cybersecurity requirementsSkills and ExperienceActive Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) security clearance5+ years of experience deploying, integrating, and maintaining enterprise or global IT networks and systems, preferably within Department of Defense (DoD) or Intelligence Community (IC) environmentsDemonstrated hands-on experience with IT equipment, software, and system installations, including system testing, integration, and troubleshootingKnowledge of enterprise IT services, infrastructure operations, and operational support environmentsExperience with IT Service Management (ITSM), customer relationship management, change management, and risk management processesFamiliarity with cybersecurity and accreditation standards, including ICD 503, DCID 6/3, DIA-CAP, and applicable NIST publicationsProficiency working in classified IT environments, including proper handling procedures, security requirements, and classified systems terminologyUnderstanding of IT asset management, configuration management, and equipment lifecycle processesExperience supporting Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) or Intelligence Community (IC) missionsFamiliarity with facility-based IT infrastructure, communications rooms, and environmental controls supporting enterprise IT systemsAbility to support after-hours, on-call, or emergency operations as mission requirements dictateEducation and CertificationsRequired: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Electronics, Engineering, or a related technical disciplineRelevant experience may be substituted in lieu of a degreeCompTIA Security+ CE (or equivalent, per DoD 8140 requirements)Preferred: ITIL FoundationVendor-specific hardware or systems installation certificationsMust be compliant with DoD 8140 certification and training requirementsBenefitsMedical, dental, vision, disability, and life insuranceFlexible Spending Accounts401(k)PTOPaid Parental LeaveTuition reimbursementPaid federal holidaysPhysical RequirementsWork may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time and typing and reading from a computer screen.
