Chimney Specialists, Inc. is seeking a motivated and dependable Fireplace Installer / Service Technician / Production Lead to join our team.

This position is ideal for an experienced tradesperson who enjoys hands-on work, problem-solving, and taking responsibility for seeing a project through from start to finish. We are looking for a self-starter with strong critical-thinking skills and a background in construction or related trades. Experience with electrical, plumbing, gas, framing, and finish work is highly beneficial.

For the right candidate, this position also offers the opportunity to lead a production crew and take greater responsibility for the successful completion of installation projects .

Previous fireplace experience is preferred but not required. We are willing to train the right individual. Chimney Specialists provides industry-specific training, continuing education, and required hearth certifications.

Preferred Experience

• 3+ years of relevant construction or skilled-trades experience preferred.
• Fireplace, hearth, HVAC, or chimney experience is beneficial but not required.
• Framing and finish carpentry experience preferred.
• Electrical experience preferred.
• Plumbing and gas experience preferred.
• Previous crew leadership or management experience is highly desirable.

This is an in-person, field-based position requiring travel to customer jobsites throughout our service area.

Position Responsibilities

Fireplace Installation & Service

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Work as part of an installation crew to complete projects safely, professionally, and according to schedule.
• Work independently when appropriate on fireplace installation and service projects.
• Install and service direct-vent gas, wood, and pellet appliances .
• Understand and follow appliance-specific venting, chimney, clearance, and installation requirements.
• Read and follow manufacturer installation and service manuals.
• Install basic wood and metal framing.
• Perform finish work around installed fireplaces with a high level of attention to detail.
• Perform basic finish carpentry, drywall, sheetrock, and taping as required.
• Extend and connect gas lines when required and within applicable qualifications and requirements.
• Apply basic plumbing, gas, and electrical knowledge to installation and troubleshooting.
• Safely perform ladder, roof, and elevated work on a regular basis.
• Carry and maneuver heavy appliances, equipment, and materials manually or with appropriate equipment.
• Properly use and maintain construction tools, specialty equipment, and company vehicles.
• Troubleshoot installation and service issues and determine appropriate solutions.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional jobsite.
• Respect and protect customer property at all times.
