Inpatient Psychiatrist

The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai is seeking an Inpatient Psychiatrist at Mount Sinai Hospital. The provider will practice within a 25-bed general adult Psychiatric Inpatient Unit at Mount Sinai's flagship hospital located on the Upper East Side of New York City. This role offers a collegial environment within a nationally recognized academic department and health system.

• Mount Sinai Hospital is a 1,171-bed tertiary-care facility located on the Upper East Side of New York City
• Major teaching site for the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai
• Dedicated support staff

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with colleagues as an integral part of a health system
• Share on-call duties with the other inpatient attendings
• Participate in the initial evaluation, assessment, treatment, and disposition of psychiatric patients admitted to the inpatient psychiatry services
• Supervise inpatient rounds
• Supervise psychiatry residents and rotating medical students in their clinical duties
• Provide six (6) weekends of coverage per year at the Inpatient Unit

Compensation

• Compensation range from $240K to $315K (not including bonuses / incentive compensation or benefits)

Shift & Schedule

• Full-time employment
• 90% clinical, 10% teaching
• Share on-call duties with the other inpatient attendings
• Provide six (6) weekends of coverage per year at the Inpatient Unit

Requirements

• Board certified or board eligible Psychiatrist required
• Possess NYS license to practice medicine required
• At least one-year post-residency experience in inpatient/emergency psychiatry services preferred
• Excellent clinical knowledge and communication skills required
• Outstanding teaching skills required
• Must possess highly collaborative and proactive approach, and demonstrate commitment to high-quality, cost-effective health care required
• A strong work ethic and desire to participate in and grow a team-oriented, performance-driven department required
