Summary
Medasource is partnering with a leading regional health system to hire experienced Inpatient Medical Coders for a fully remote contract opportunity. This role supports a high-acuity, multi-specialty environment and is ideal for coders with strong experience handling complex inpatient cases.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform accurate inpatient coding across a wide range of specialties, including: Cardiology, Neurology, Surgical cases, Transplants, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), Additional complex inpatient cases
- Assign appropriate diagnosis and procedure codes in accordance with organizational, regulatory, and industry standards
- Maintain timely and accurate coding in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
- Consistently meet established productivity and quality expectations
Qualifications
- Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) certification preferred; RHIT or RHIA credentials will also be considered
- Minimum of three years of inpatient coding experience
- Strong multi-specialty inpatient coding background
- Experience working within an academic medical center or trauma facility preferred
- Proficiency with Epic EHR
- Experience using the 3M encoder
