Working remotely, the part-time Inpatient Coder - Maryland Licensed will review, code, and abstract medical records for inpatient services, ensuring compliance with established coding conventions and guidelines. Key responsibilities Review and code medical records for inpatient services, identifying physician-documented diagnoses and procedures Assign accurate ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes to documented diagnoses and procedures Group assigned codes to determine appropriate Diagnosis-Related Groups (DRGs) and ensure compliance with standards Required qualifications Formal working knowledge equivalent to an associate degree in a specialized field Knowledge of medical coding principles, conventions, and guidelines Ability to accurately review medical records and assign appropriate diagnosis and procedure codes
