Job Purpose
The purpose of this position is to improve the mental health and wellbeing of Gila County Jail inmates.
Responsibilities
* Conduct mental health assessments and prioritize psychiatric needs of inmates, including interviews to listen to their issues, evaluate acute and chronic symptoms, and determine essential care required as mandated by regulations and protocols; document and report test results.
* Document contacts made with inmates, including on the phone and in person.
* Coordinate with medical personnel to provide inmates with medications.
* Liaise with officers, medical personnel, and outside contacts to obtain more information to help inmates; conduct research to find other mental health agencies.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
