Ingredient Prep. Team Member, Level 1Ingredient Preparation team members are responsible for effectively working with their team to follow daily work instructions. The Ingredient Prep Department prepares and delivers ingredients for the batching department.
Team members handle food ingredients, follow recipes, document traceability, operate washing, chopping, pumping and mixing equipment, whilst following food quality and safety standards to ensure the safe and timely production of healthy food.What You'll Do:Assist in setting up the Ingredient Prep. and Batching areasPrepare raw materials for processing, including de-casing, inspecting, washing, size reducing and portioning.Prepare, properly label, and stage raw materials for downstream processes.Safely operate process equipment with supervision including wash tanks, product conveyors, drum/tote unloaders, size reduction equipment, pumps, buggy dumpers and mixing systems.Assist with general sanitation activities, including breakdown of various equipment following product changeovers and at the end of the production shift.Work as part of a team to ensure timely and efficient production. Embrace collective ambition.Prepare and review documentation (written or digital) as required for food safety, quality, and production tracking activities.Adhere to and demonstrate to team members all safety guidelines (both personnel and food safety-related) and Good Manufacturing Practices.Abide by policies and procedures that support the service mindsetManage timeline expectations within and across teams, deliver on our responsibilities accordinglyEarn the trust of Team Members and Managers by consistently embracing CAVA's valuesShow discipline in bringing consistent performance, communication, and attitude to the job every dayActively contribute to your department in order to complete tasks and meet company goalsRecognize the emotional stake each Team Member has in personal and organizational success of this businessThe Qualifications:Food handling and/or food processing experience preferred.You must be able to begin work between 5am and 6am and you must be able to work up to 11 hours per day.You must demonstrate proper clock management and maintain a strong attendance.You must maintain close concentration and visual attention to assigned tasks.You must be willing and able to follow instructions.You must have good verbal communication skills.You must be willing and able to work efficiently and with alacrity.You must have some familiarity with smart phones, tablets, and email.Physical Requirements:Physical dexterity, ability to lift up to 45 lbs.
