OSP Infrastructure TechnicianWyyerd is seeking an OSP Infrastructure Technician who will be responsible for supporting the construction of FTTH GPON plant by installing conduit, pulling fiber, splicing fiber, in addition to other duties related to outside plant construction. In addition, this role will support plant maintenance and repair.About This RoleThe OSP Infrastructure Technician is a vital part of the Wyyerd team. Wyyerd has near-term plans to dramatically accelerate expansion and, in doing so, the construction of new fiber network.
The Professional Services team is responsible for working with outside plant contractors and internal teams to enable the rapid deployment of a fiber network in order to enable its expansion, and the OSP Technicians play a key role in this process.ResponsibilitiesProofing conduit pathsPulling fiber through conduitSplicing fiber, once trained, to enable service to customersOSP plant maintenance and repair supportLocating of existing network infrastructure via geospatial tools, GPS capture toolsWorking effectively with other people and teams in the organizationPrograming and troubleshooting networking equipment as neededAssisting with other OSP and network-related activities as needed, e.g., placement of drop cablesOther duties as requiredExperience/QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalentPositive attitude, willingness and eagerness to learn new things, team playerAble to lift up to 40lbsAbility to understand/learn the fiber network construction processWorking computer knowledge and Microsoft Office knowledgeUnderstanding of basic electricityUnderstanding and interpreting plant mapsTelecommunications wiring color-code competencyMust have clean driving recordAbility to pass drug testUnderstanding of ISP servicesAbility to work with others on all responsibilities
