This is a full-time on-site position for an Infrastructure Engineer II supporting a U.S. Space Force mission platform at Vandenberg SFB. You will help operate and sustain the on-premise stack and the platform services that run on it, including compute, storage, network, virtualization, and Kubernetes. You will work alongside senior engineers and the platform engineering team so the on-prem stack and the IL6 cloud environment run as one platform.

This is a hands-on execution role. You will carry out builds, changes, patching, and troubleshooting under the direction of senior engineers, and grow into owning larger parts of the stack.

•    Install, rack, cable, and configure servers, storage arrays, and network equipment, and support hardware lifecycle replacement.

•    Administer virtualization hosts and virtual machines, including provisioning, patching, and capacity checks.

•    Support storage administration, backups, and scheduled recovery tests.

•    Support Kubernetes clusters, container registry, CI/CD runners, and GitOps tooling on the on-prem stack.

•    Maintain shared services tenants depend on, including DNS, NTP, identity and access, certificates, and logging.

•    Apply DISA STIGs and remediate vulnerability scan findings within required timelines.

•    Monitor system health, respond to alerts and incidents, and document fixes.

•    Receive, inventory, and track hardware and spares in the asset system of record.

•    Keep runbooks, diagrams, and configuration baselines current.

•    3+ years of experience in systems administration, infrastructure engineering, or data center operations.

•    Hands-on experience with Linux and/or Windows Server administration.

•    Experience with virtualization platforms such as VMware vSphere/ESXi, Hyper-V, or Nutanix.

•    Working knowledge of networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, VLANs, DNS, routing, and firewalls.

•    Scripting experience in Bash, PowerShell, or Python.

•    Exposure to containers and Kubernetes.

•    DoD 8140-compliant certification for the assigned work role (Security+ CE or equivalent), or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.

•    U.S. citizenship and an active Secret clearance, with the ability to obtain TS/SCI.

•    Experience in classified or air-gapped environments.

•    Experience with Dell PowerEdge and PowerStore hardware.

•    Exposure to Infrastructure as Code tools such as Ansible or Terraform.

•    Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
