MSP OwnerLocation: Oakland, CADuration: 6 monthsSkill ID: + years of experience in this fieldMust Have Technical/Functional SkillsPower system analysis software (ETAP, SKM, PSCAD, PowerWorld, CYME)AutoCAD / AutoCAD Electrical / Revit (preferred)Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)Roles & ResponsibilitiesPower System Design & AnalysisPerform power system studies, including load flow, short circuit, arc flash, motor starting, and transient stability (as applicable).Design and review medium- and high-voltage electrical systems, including substations, switchgear, transformers, and protective devices.Develop single-line diagrams, schematics, grounding plans, and equipment layouts.Protection, Controls & ReliabilityDevelop and review protective relay settings and coordination studies.Support system reliability, redundancy, and fault mitigation strategies.Evaluate system performance and recommend upgrades or corrective actions.Standards, Safety & ComplianceEnsure designs comply with applicable codes and standards (e.g., NEC, IEEE, IEC, ANSI, NESC).Support arc flash hazard analysis and electrical safety compliance.Participate in design reviews, audits, and regulatory or utility interconnections.Project & Stakeholder SupportCollaborate with project managers, mechanical/civil engineers, utilities, vendors, and clients.Review vendor submittals, technical specifications, and factory acceptance tests (FATs).Provide technical support during construction, commissioning, and system energization.Documentation & ReportingPrepare technical reports, calculations, drawings, and design packages.Clearly communicate findings and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.Strong understanding of power systems theory and electrical equipment.Experience with power system analysis software (e.g., ETAP, SKM, PSCAD, PowerWorld, CYME, or similar).Knowledge of electrical safety and industry standards.Ability to work independently and manage multiple technical tasks.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Preferred QualificationsMaster's degree in Electrical Engineering (Power Systems focus preferred).Professional Engineer (PE) license or progress toward licensure.Experience with renewable energy, data centers, utilities, or industrial facilities.Experience with protective relays and substation design.Familiarity with utility interconnection processes and grid codes.Tools & TechnologiesPower system analysis software (ETAP, SKM, PSCAD, PowerWorld, CYME)AutoCAD / AutoCAD Electrical / Revit (preferred)Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
