IT Software Engineer 5Location: Chicago, IL - Worker will need to come into office 2x a week. A full return to office (5 days in office) will eventually happen, so candidates need to make sure they are good with that. Daily Schedule (including any anticipated weekly/monthly OT) Hybrid role (In office 2x days a week) Duration: 12 monthsPosition's Contributions to Work Group:AKA Senior SDET Extend testing automation framework using JAVA/JAVA ScriptTake ownership in understanding business requirements/ACs and develop test strategy/test planDevelop automation testcases using existing automation frameworkReason/motivation for request: New headcountTypical task breakdown:Develop test automation code for Continuous Integration (CI), Continuous Delivery (CD), of systems, infrastructure, and test framework.Plan, design, develop, and maintain API test automation framework that facilitates automation scripting, execution, and analysis of resultsProvide technical leadership and mentoring for test engineers on multiple applications/projects onshore and offshore; train and mentor project team members to create, execute, analyze, and maintain automated regression suitesCoordinate with product owner to resolve open issues/enhancements/upgrades and understand the use of a specific functionality as neededDevelop automated functional scripts using tools such as Java, Karate, JMeter.Perform exploratory and manual testing of the product suite as appropriateProvide expertise in testing methodologies, best practices, and standardsPosition will be onsite hybrid starting day 1.

Interviews may also be onsiteInteraction with team: Working with team; team consists of 20 folksWork environment: Chicago Office: 540 W Madison Street, Chicago, IL 60661Education & Experience Required:Years of experience: 10 yrs experienceDegree requirement: Bachelor's degree and 10 years of experienceRequired Technical Skills (Required)Strong design and development skills in two or more of the following technologies and tools: Java (3-5 years) Cucumber(3-5 years), JBehave or other BDD testing frameworksAt least 8 years of test automation framework designStrong experience in testing Webservices (REST APIs) (3 5 years)Proven experience developing test scripts, test cases, and test dataThe ability to write queries in SQL or other relational databases3 years of experience in developing scenario based performance testing using JMeterExperience testing full stack and integration testing with 3rd partiesEnd-to-end system integration testing experience for software platforms(Desired)Hands on experience with Python - development experience in AWS Cloud technologyExperience in TDD, continuous integration, code review practice is strongly desiredExperience with Apigee or other API gateways is a plusExperience with DevOps concepts and tools (e.g., CI/CD, Jenkins, Git)At least 2 years working on an Agile team with a solid understanding of Agile/Lean practices.Understanding of a micro service ArchitectureExperience load and performance testingStrong documentation skillsSoft Skills (Required)Ability to adapt quickly to a complex environmentPro-active, flexible and creativeVery strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with developers and business users.
