The Information Technology Architect 1 (Lead Data Architect) serves as a lead data architect within the Enterprise AI and Data Unit of the New York State Attorney General's Office. This role designs and manages enterprise data architecture solutions including data warehouses, data lakes, and data marts while establishing data governance policies and providing technical leadership. The position focuses on ensuring structured and unstructured data can be securely accessed, governed, and analyzed across required platforms to support the agency's data-driven mission.
Key qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, IT or related field plus four years of broad IT experience
- At least four years of specialized experience in data management solution architecture, database design, data governance, metadata management, or data warehousing
- Experience with data modeling techniques including Entity-Relationship, Object-Relational, and Dimensional modeling
- Experience designing and managing centralized data architecture solutions
- Preferred: industry certifications such as Certified Data Management Professional, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or Azure Data Engineer
- Preferred: experience supporting AI/ML workflows and data science platforms
