Information Systems Manager (InterSystems Cache / IRIS)

Manager of Information SystemsThe Manager of Information Systems is responsible for leading the development, administration, and continuous improvement of the organization's ERP environment while overseeing IT infrastructure, networking, cybersecurity, and enterprise data management.This position provides both strategic leadership and hands-on technical expertise, managing a small IT team while partnering with business leaders and external vendors to ensure technology solutions support operational efficiency, business growth, and information security.Key ResponsibilitiesERP Systems ManagementLead the development, maintenance, and enhancement of the organization's ERP system utilizing the Intersystems IRIS platformPartner with internal stakeholders to identify business needs and implement software enhancements that improve operational efficiencyManage ERP system updates, enhancements, and ongoing supportPrepare and maintain ERP system documentation, technical procedures, and user documentationIT Infrastructure & SecurityOversee enterprise IT infrastructure, including:Network administrationCybersecurityData managementSystem administrationManage Linux and Intersystems IRIS system updates and maintenanceDevelop, maintain, and oversee the organization's disaster recovery and business continuity plansEnsure IT systems remain secure, reliable, and scalable to support business operationsLeadership & Team ManagementLead and mentor a small IT team supporting system administration and software developmentEstablish priorities and coordinate departmental activitiesFoster a collaborative, customer-focused IT environmentSupport employee development through coaching and technical guidanceBusiness Systems & EDISupport customer onboarding activities involving:Electronic Data Interchange (EDI)Labeling requirementsCustomer documentationSystem integrationEnsure business systems effectively support operational and customer requirementsVendor & Project ManagementDevelop and maintain relationships with key technology vendors and service providersNegotiate vendor agreements and technology purchases to maximize value and control costsCoordinate vendor support activities and technology implementationsManage IT-related projects from planning through implementationDocumentation & ComplianceMaintain technical documentation, system procedures, and operational standardsSupport data integrity, cybersecurity, and IT governance initiativesEnsure technology systems align with organizational policies and industry best practicesRequired QualificationsEducationBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related fieldExperience10+ years of experience working with the Intersystems technology stack, including:CacheIRIS5+ years of experience supporting manufacturing or industrial environments2+ years of Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) experiencePrevious experience leading technical teams or IT operationsTechnical SkillsExtensive experience with Intersystems Cache and IRIS platformsStrong understanding of:ERP systemsLinux administrationNetworkingCybersecurityData managementExperience supporting ERP enhancements and business system integrationsStrong technical documentation skillsProfessional SkillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsDemonstrated leadership and people management experienceStrong organizational and project management abilitiesAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentStrong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently while leading collaborative teamsPreferred QualificationsExperience supporting manufacturing ERP environmentsExperience with vendor management and contract negotiationsExperience developing disaster recovery and business continuity strategiesBackground supporting enterprise infrastructure and cybersecurity initiativesLeadership CompetenciesDemonstrated ability to lead teams and achieve results through othersStrong relationship-building and collaboration skillsSelf-directed with the ability to independently troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issuesStrong customer service mindset with a focus on continuous improvementAbility to communicate effectively across all levels of the organizationEOE (including Disability/Veterans)
