Information Systems Architect – Consultant (MS SCCM / MECM System Administrator)The State of South Carolina (SCDPPPS) is seeking a Senior Microsoft SCCM / MECM System Administrator to support and enhance enterprise endpoint management initiatives. This is a newly created role to address a critical skills gap within the organization.The consultant will be responsible for designing, administering, maintaining, and securing the agency's MECM/SCCM and MDT infrastructure, supporting large-scale Windows endpoint deployments, patching, compliance, and endpoint security in a fully remote enterprise environment.Key ResponsibilitiesAdminister, design, deploy, and support enterprise MECM/SCCM and MDT infrastructureEnsure reliable software distribution, patching, reporting, and OS deployments (OSD)Develop, maintain, and refresh multiple Windows OS imagesConfigure and manage application deployments for endpoint devicesMonitor MECM/SCCM infrastructure performance, logs, and event dataImprove endpoint compliance, security posture, and operational efficiencyManage SUP, WSUS, and SQL Server configurations related to SCCMSupport Intune co-management and modern endpoint managementImplement and maintain security controls aligned with state and CJIS standardsProvide documentation, operational support, and knowledge transferParticipate in change management, risk identification, and mitigationCommunicate effectively with IT teams, business users, and vendorsAdhere to state IT policies, SOPs, disaster recovery, and incident response proceduresRequired Skills & Experience5+ years of enterprise MECM/SCCM and MDT administration5+ years experience with Windows OS deployments, imaging, and refreshesStrong experience developing and implementing multiple OS images5+ years experience with: Software Update Points (SUP)WSUS integrationsSQL Server configurations related to SCCMHands-on experience with: Active DirectoryEntra AD / Hybrid AD (AADDC)Microsoft 365 administrationMicrosoft Intune (co-management)Microsoft Defender for Endpoint (MDE)Experience with SCCM hierarchy (CAS, Primary, Secondary sites)Strong knowledge of boundary groups, distribution points, and content strategyPreferred Skills & QualificationsAdvanced expertise in: Windows infrastructure, logging, and event handlingClient settings and deployment strategiesCompliance settings, baselines, and client health monitoringStrong PowerShell scripting and automation skillsExperience with: Logon scripts and logon performance optimizationAutomated deployments (OS, drivers, GPOs, task sequences)DNS, DHCP, PXE, and related protocolsExperience in high-availability enterprise environmentsExcellent communication, documentation, and time management skillsProactive, self-motivated, and detail-orientedPreferred Certifications (Not Mandatory)Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP)Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE)Microsoft Azure FundamentalsMicrosoft Azure AdministratorNetwork+***Lumen and / or its clients will not provide equipment (Laptop, monitor, etc.) to the selected contractor.
