Sanford Health is seeking a BE/BC Infectious Disease specialist to join their growing team of 4 board-certified ID physicians and 2 certified nurse practitioners. This role involves hospital and outpatient clinic rotations, including telemedicine services to network locations across South Dakota, Minnesota, and Iowa. The successful candidate will engage in a well-rounded clinical ID practice, encompassing travel medicine, antibiotic stewardship, and HIV care, with opportunities for teaching and research.
Practice Info
- Join a group of 4 board certified ID physicians and 2 certified nurse practitioners.
- Hospital and outpatient clinic rotations with telemedicine services to network locations in SD, MN, and IA.
- Clinic is located on the campus of Sanford USD Medical Center.
- Close collaboration with hospitalists, intensivists and other subspecialists.
- A well-rounded clinical ID practice, including travel medicine, antibiotic stewardship, and HIV care, as well as opportunities for teaching and research.
- Academic appointment opportunities available at the University of South Dakota Sanford School of Medicine.
Responsibilities
- Perform history and physical examinations.
- Admit, evaluate, diagnose, consult, and provide care to patients of all ages with infectious diseases of all types and in all organ systems.

Shift & Schedule
- Call schedule 1:5 rotation.
Requirements
- M.D. or D.O. degree.
- Successful completion of an Internal Medicine or Pediatric residency program.
- Successful completion of a fellowship in Infectious Diseases accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada in the residency.
- Certification in the primary area of practice by the appropriate specialty/ subspecialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, as applicable.
- If not board certified at the time of application but completed fellowship training within the last five years, must achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of fellowship training.
