Infectious Disease Physician

This hospital in Eastern Kentucky is seeking a locum tenens Infectious Disease physician to provide comprehensive inpatient and clinic-based care. The clinician will manage adult patients, oversee IV antibiotic management and Hepatitis C treatment, and supervise an on-site nurse practitioner. This ongoing assignment offers a Monday through Friday schedule with no call requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide primarily inpatient consultative and management services
• Conduct two half-day clinic sessions per week
• Manage approximately 25 adult patients per day in the inpatient setting and 10 patients per half-day clinic session
• Perform clinical duties including IV antibiotic management and Hepatitis C treatment
• Supervise one on-site NP who assists in both the inpatient and clinic settings

Shift & Schedule

• Dates needed: 10/12 - Ongoing
• Shift type: Day Shift
• Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
• No call required

Requirements

• MD
• Board certification or board eligibility in Infectious Disease through ABIM or AOA is required
• Minimum of 2 years of experience required
• Active Kentucky medical license or IMLC required
